In 2006, Erika Fernandez arrived at Calgary with her husband and two kids from Venezuela, South America. With a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations at the Universidad Católica Andres Bello, Erika has gained interesting professional experience within the non-profit sector and engineering corporations in Canada. Basically, her roles have been as Program Coordinator and Project Assistant. Also, Erika completed the Communications and Technology Master’s Program Degree at the University of Alberta. Currently, Erika Fernandez is running her own online marketing business named E-workbee Social Design and she is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators chapter Calgary chapter (IABC). Her community activities include volunteering for CKUA radio as Communications Ambassador, Venezuelan Canadian Association as Humanity Aid Coordinator, Calgary Corporate Challenge games as Social Media member, and Alberta Network of Immigrant Women (ANIW) where she completed the Community Leadership Class of 2014. Erika has worked for engineering corporations and her last experience was at CH2M. She worked as the Project Assistant for the Biophysical team.

Shannon Lupyczuk, a Calgary native, is a graduate of Business Management at SAIT and Technical Writing at Mount Royal University. Shannon spent ten years as a business analyst and technical writer in the telecom and government sectors before taking off her corporate hat and donning a backpack to travel the world. She has since traversed 27 countries, reveling in a myriad of cultures and delicious foods. A passion for writing has led to taking countless creative writing courses and workshops. Shannon has a passion for working with small businesses as a copywriter and technical writer – helping to showcase the best of who they are and create a voice for their culture and vision.

Great studies foundation studies in visual art in Venezuela at Escuela de Bellas Artes Cristobal Rojas and Escuela de Artes Francisco Pimentel, and also in the United States of America at School of Visual Art and Pratt Institute of New York. Best known in the art world as Sousa, he has been interested in advertising and graphic design that involves the use of computer software such as Illustrated, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. From 1980, Sousa had worked for important advertising agencies such as Studio One Retouching-the Final Step in New York City, Publicidad Hener, J.M.C. Creatividad Orientada/Young & Rubicam, Publicidad Vapro, and J.Walter Thompson in Venezuela. In 2001, Sousa started his own Art Studio, E.D.A.S. and since 2013 has been working as a freelance graphic designer for E-workbee basically working on logo design, stationery materials, and also as a marketing strategist and consultant. Betty has worked in Taiwan, Australia, and Canada, which has enhanced her work and life experience. She has experience working in an advertising agency and non-profit organizations where her responsibilities included graphic design, advertising, branding, website design, and motion graphics.


She received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the National Taiwan University of Arts and her New Media Production & Design Diploma at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Her backgrounds in both fine arts and new media production allow her to create innovative, original, and memorable creative design pieces for all projects. Betty is also the recipient of the Web Design Awards – STAR from CSS Winner, for her exceptional visual & web design skills.

Raquel Centeno is a fine arts undergraduate at The University of Calgary, obtaining a major in Visual Studies. Her strengths lie within traditional mediums such as watercolour as well as digital media, and has a great commitment in the field of storytelling using 2-dimensional visual means. Raquel continues her passionate path in illustration, and is now studying Concept Art at Vancouver Film School.

Originally trained as a geophysicist Elias’ natural curiosity made him a multifaceted professional, he taught himself programing at 15 and in the 90’s he was already working with Machine Learning tools to solve interesting problems. Elias has worked on many different roles within different cultures. He has worked as explorationist, trainer, data manager, database admin, a systems admin, mentor, support analyst, solutions sales and even as a cinema projector operator.

 Having lived and worked in different countries, he is used to deal with different cultures;  he has called Calgary home for the last eleven years. His most recent professional focus is on the exciting discipline of Data Science, and as a Data Scientist he helps his clients to make evidence based decisions and become data driven companies.

Master carpenter and set designer who integrates requirements including script, research, budget, and available locations to develop a design. Jose has managed and coordinated huge set construction, erection, or decoration activities to ensure conformance to design budget and schedule requirements. He examines dressed set to ensure props and scenery do not interfere with movements of cast or view of a camera. As a scenic constructor, Jose can have far-fetched ideas and his job is to find a way to make them come to life. He makes the impossible possible and must do that on a budget, which can be a challenge. “I like making things; it’s simple as that. I like working in a creative environment with other people,” said Jose. Jose has worked for TV stations like Univision and Telemundo, educational centers like the University of Miami, private organizations like Master Card, mall stores like Berluti, and more great clients.
